Giving Students an Individualized Experience in Online Learning: Staying Connected while Disconnected

Each faculty member tends to develop their own approach to teaching online. This article outlines the approach used in a large introductory Biology course at a large university. Although their educational context differs from ours, there are excellent suggestions that can be scaled to our context, such as student choice of synchronous activity, building community, and keeping content manageable.
