Access to the College

You can access the building from 06:45 to 22:00 unless otherwise posted. 

Typical office hours are 08:00 to 16:00. 

Weekend access is restricted to the Main Entrance Door #1. A valid Heritage College ID card is required for entry. You must sign in and out with the security guard on duty.

Parking

Availability

Semester parking passes are sold at the beginning of each Fall & Winter semester (parking during the Summer is free). A MIO will be sent to students once the parking pass is available to them and an email will be sent to employees to the same effect.

Validity

Semester Parking permits are in force as follows:

  • Winter Semester: Second day of classes to last day of classes
  • Fall Semester: Second day of classes to last day of classes

Daily from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Free Parking

  • After 5:00 pm - 6:00 am, Monday to Friday
  • Weekends or Statutory Holidays
  • Summer - from the last day of classes (May) to the second day of classes (August)
  • Christmas Break – from the last day of classes (December) to the second day of classes (January)

Eligibility

There are specific parameters and conditions set for the purchase of a parking pass. The main objective of this procedure is to implement a system that encourages public transportation.

Round 1 Students

Student Services will notify all students when Round 1 is open to reserve and purchase as per following:

  • Students without access or with limited access to public transportation from their current address (based on information available in CLARA and STO Network).

Permits for Round 1 will open four (4) weeks prior to the first day of classes of each semester.

Students in Round 1 will need to pay for their parking pass to ensure that their pass doesn’t get cancelled within two (2) weeks of reserving their parking permit. The remaining passes will be offered to all students during Round 2.

All individuals who qualify for Round 1 and do not complete the payment within two weeks of reserving this parking permit will have to purchase the permit according to the criteria for Round 2.

Round 2 Students

Student Services and Building Services will notify all students/staff when Round 2 is open to reserve and purchase as per following:

  • All employees
  • All students who do not qualify for Round 1, on a first-come first-serve basis.

Permits for Round 2 will be available two (2) weeks prior to the first day of classes of each semester.

Students in Round 2 will need to pay for their parking pass within two (2) weeks of reserving their parking permit to ensure that their pass doesn’t get cancelled.

Price and Payment

Semester Parking Pass for Vehicle

Cost: $120

You must reserve your pass through Omnivox. After completing you complete your reservation, you can pick up your parking pass in at Building Services (Room A-200) if you are an employee, and in Student Services (B-106) if you are a student.
You can pay through Omnivox with a credit card or in person at Building Servicesonce you pick up your pass.  Payment methods at the counter are cash, debit, or credit card (Mastercard or Visa).

Semester Parking Pass for Motorcycle or Scooter

Cost: $45(only if no Semester Parking Pass was purchased)
Owners of motorcycles may transfer a Semester or Cont-Ed Parking Permit to a motorcycle only after informing Building Services, so they can notify the Ville de Gatineau of the license plate number (as the permit cannot be displayed).You must visit Building Services. No permit is issued. For more information, you can contact us with your name and student number.

Daily Parking

Cost: $8/day

Daily Parking Permits are issued by using the Parkedin App or in person at Student Services (B-106) or Building Services (A-200).

Important Parking Policy

If you are using either the roadways or a parking space owned by the CÉGEP Heritage College, you must:

  1. obey all applicable municipal bylaws and posted traffic and directional signs
  2. drive in a manner that does not endanger anyone
  3. park in designated areas only
  4. occupy only one (1) designated parking space
