CÉGEP Heritage College's Nursing program is set in the beautiful Gatineau Park in the National Capital region. Our three year Nursing program has over 30 years experience in delivering high-quality education. Our exceptional graduates are highly regarded in health care facilities across Western Quebec and Eastern Ontario.
Through our small class sizes, innovative learning environments, and dedicated faculty, we are committed to preparing our students for real-life practice in an increasingly challenging and complex healthcare system. Upon graduation, you will be qualified to enter the workforce in Quebec as a nurse or continue your education for a DEC-BAC with McGill University or other universities in Quebec.
Graduates of this program receive a Diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) and are eligible to write the Québec licensing examination administered by the Ordre des infirmières du Québec (OIIQ).
Students must also demonstrate proficiency in both English and French. Some students may be required to demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written French with the Office québécoise de la langue française (OQLF) if they studied outside of Quebec.
Upon successful receipt of an RN license in Quebec, candidates can work in various health care settings in Quebec. Registered nurses in Quebec are also eligible to a transfer of license to professional College of Nurses across Canada under the respective provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
After completion of the three-year CÉGEP diploma in Nursing at CÉGEP Heritage College, eligible students may apply to the Ingram School of Nursing (McGill University) or at the Département des Sciences infirmières (Université du Québec en Outaouais /UQO), to pursue their studies for two years full-time or three to four years part-time toward a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BN). Graduates may also chose fulltime or part-time studies through distant education from universities across Canada and internationally.
My years at Heritage College were truly incredible. The nursing teachers are very dedicated to our success. Nursing at Heritage allowed me to learn new skills, make connections and most importantly form close relationships. I have chosen to pursue my Bachelor’s degree at McGill University and I could not be more proud of the competences and experience that follow me to this new journey.

Heritage College Nursing program has given me a solid knowledge base to start my career as a registered nurse. The smaller class sizes gave the professors a chance to build a relationship with each of their students. The nursing instructors helped me throughout my learning curve and I was able to finish each semester successfully while raising a baby as a young mom. I am extremely glad that I chose to enroll in this program as now I have build myself a career that I once thought was out of my reach. Thank you Heritage College!
